About Our Community
We gather to cultivate depth through community building, engage broadly through networking, and steward care for life by generously sharing skills, knowledge, and lived experience.
History
Becca Manthe founded the NCP in 2022 to build a professional community during graduate school that would hopefully keep growing organically, in the wild afterward. The first networking event was held at the Woodlake Nature Center. The theme was Nature as Catalyst for Cultural Restructuring. We learned about garlic mustard, an edible invasive species brought to the land by European settlers. We helped remove a large swath in the woods while creating connections, sharing stories, foraging, grappling with invasive species and our place in the ecosystem.
Present
Over the years, the NCP has grown organically with the generosity of co-resonant professionals who are dedicated to healing our human relationships with the more-than-human world in community. We aim to organize meaningful NCP seasonal gatherings three or four times per year. We have an open invitation to all who are interested to join the monthly planning meeting on Zoom to steer our movement forward.
